Associate Minister, English Ministry
CCIC Mountain View is currently searching for a
pastor to lead the English Ministry.
Responsibilities - Leading English
Ministry:
1. Develop vision/strategy/plans for the ministry
2. Preach regularly during the English Sunday services
3. Develop leadership team and carry out training program
4. Shepherd English Ministry Team and fellowship group leaders
5. Develop/oversee a congregational caring program
6. Mobilize the congregation to outreach to the community
7. Support other pastors/staff in church-wide tasks
8. Occasional: counsel and conduct special ceremonies
Qualifications
1. Calling to shepherd a multi-ethnic congregation
2. Minimum 3-5 years of full-time pastoral experience (or equivalent) with
adults and youth
3. Seminary/Bible School graduate
4. Ministry experience with Chinese and American cultures
About Chinese Church in Christ, Mountain View,
California
• An independent, evangelical Christian church, founded March 1982.
• Separate Sunday worship services in English and Chinese (Mandarin)
congregations
• The English congregation consists largely of Chinese-Americans who speak
English as their primary language.
• Average Sunday worship attendance: 70 in English congregation and 200 in
Chinese congregation.
• Four other sister local churches in the area.
CCIC Mountain View’s English Ministry
• Congregation make-up: Young families, junior high and senior high school
students, families with grown children, singles, and couples.
• Current ministries: Weekly English-speaking worship services and (occasional
combined worship services with the Chinese-speaking congregation) along with
weekly Sunday school sessions; weekly fellowships (one bi-monthly adult
fellowship group, one weekly young adult/college fellowship group, one youth
weekly fellowship group, and one bi-monthly mom’s group).
• Ministries overseen and shepherded by the Pastoral Team, comprised of
full-time staff and elders.
• Ministries carried out by the English Ministry Team, which meets monthly.
